Phillips Petroleum Company Museum

The Phillips Petroleum Company Museum in Bartlesville Oklahoma celebrates the history of Phillips Petroleum Co through the people who worked there to make the company an industry leader.

Phillips merged with Conoco Inc. in 2002 to become ConocoPhillips, now the second largest oil refiner in the US. The new company commissioned two museums (one in each city) to tell the stories of each company up to the point of merger. These museums, in towns 70 miles apart were to be built and opened simultaneously.

Haley Sharpe Design appointed D J Willrich to provide lighting design and audio visual consultancy on both museums. DJW designed the AV and lighting systems as well as being responsible for preparing bid documentation and appointing the local AV contractor. DJW then project managed the installation to ensure that the project was delivered in accordance with the design goals of the client and design team.

DJW performed this same service for the Conoco Museum in Ponca City Oklahoma, achieving excellent results on both sites.
